Do i need a license to fly a drone?

I‘m a recreational flyers:
You are considered a recreational user if you fly your drone for fun. You don’t need to pass a test. It is important to know when and where you can fly and how to register your drone.

I want to fly for work or business:
You will fly for commercial use (such as providing aerial surveying or photography services) or fly incidental to a business (such as performing roof inspections or real estate photography), you need to pass a test under FAA Part 107 rules.

I will fly for a Government agencies (including Federal, State, and tribal), law enforcement, and public safety entities:
You need to pass a test under FAA Part 107 rules OR your agency may choose to request a COA (certificate of authorization) from the FAA to become a public aircraft operator. This would allow your agency to self-certify you has a drone pilot.

If you need to become an FAA-Certified Drone Pilot by passing the test, you must be:

– At least 16 years old
– Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
– Be in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a UAS
